Having a baby can change your body. In some ways, your body might be changed forever, but there are other things that you hope to change as soon as you can. If you look at some celebrities, losing the baby weight seems like a breeze. However, it’s important to remember that they often have personal trainers to help them out, professional help looking after their baby, and sometimes a better starting point – i.e., they were very physically fit before pregnancy. If you want to lose weight after having a baby, exercise will help, but dieting is likely to make the biggest difference.

If you’re looking for the ideal diet to lose weight after having a baby, take a look at these five options to consider which one might be best for you.

1. HCG Weight Loss Program

The HCG weight loss plan that uses hormone therapy to help you lose weight. Hcg Diet Plan combines this hormone therapy with whole food eating and is supervised by a doctor to ensure safety and effectiveness. If you’re looking for rapid weight loss with medical supervision, you could lose an average of 25 to 35 pounds in around one month. If you decide to do this diet, you will get an HCG kit and a list of foods to follow. For your supervised diet, you don’t need to visit a doctor in person. Using an online doctor, you can make sure your diet is safely supervised and prescribed by a qualified medical professional. If you’re considering this diet, it’s best to be done with breastfeeding first.

2. Whole30 Eating

The Whole30 Program involves removing certain foods from your diet completely, such as added sugar, grains or legumes. The diet aims to allow you to continue eating “real food” but without some key food groups, for 30 days. Moderate portions of meat, seafood, eggs, plenty of vegetables, fruit and seasonings, herbs and spices are ok. Banned foods include:

  • Added sugar
  • Alcohol
  • Grains
  • Legumes (except for green beans, snow peas or sugar snap peas)
  • Dairy (except for ghee or clarified butter)
  • Baked goods and junk food
  • Carrageenan, MSGs, and sulfates

Another rule during the 30 days is that you shouldn’t weigh yourself or take any body measurements. Of course, this means you might be uncertain of your progress during this time. It’s possible you might start to feel your clothes fitting differently, or you feel different physically. However, you won’t know until the end of the 30 days how much weight you have lost.

3. Raw Food Diet

As its name suggests, the raw food diet means choosing to eat raw food only, as well as avoiding processed foods. Of course, this means that you’re limited where some food is concerned. It is possible to eat some raw meat and fish safely, but unless you’re planning to survive on sashimi and carpaccio, you will be eating a primarily vegan or vegetarian diet. There’s still plenty left to enjoy, however, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, and you can even have raw eggs or dairy if you want. Other items such as coffee and tea, alcohol and even pasteurized juices are out. By cutting out some of these food groups, you’ll be focusing on foods with fewer calories. However, you still need to get your calories and activity levels right.

4. Paleo Diet Plan

The Paleo diet is based on what our ancestors supposedly ate when we were still hunter-gatherers. It’s a little like today’s Mediterranean diet, with a focus on lean meat, eggs, fish and seafood, and avoidance of legumes, grains, corn, soy, dairy, and sugar. If you’re a fan of supporting your local economy, it’s a good diet choice because it encourages eating locally where possible. Unlike some other diets, you don’t have to ban some things like chocolate or alcohol outright. If you feel like it fits into your diet, then it can work well for you. However, if you’re trying to lose weight, you still need to count calories.

5. Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet says no to carbohydrates. The principle is that you can have as much fat and protein as you want, but you need to avoid high-carb foods. Cutting out bread, pasta and other filling but often nutritionally-light foods can help you to lose weight. Technically, the Atkins diet has four phases, starting with having under 20 grams of carbs a day and eventually eating as many as your body is comfortable with. However, you don’t have to follow these four steps. You can lose weight by choosing a simple low-carb diet.

Choose the diet that works for you when you want to lose your baby weight. Some will work faster than others, but make sure always to do it safely.
