If you are looking to save money, you can keep specific containers because you can repurpose them for different things. Which ones are the best ones to save and why?
Repurpose Your Containers
If you are ready to head over to Wal-Mart to grab some new containers because you have too many things, then you may want to think again because you are only wasting money. Which ones should you keep? Excellent question because I will go over the five best containers to keep and why. Let’s go into that now.
Large Yogurt Or Ice Cream Containers
Did you or your family finish a large container of yogurt or ice cream? If so, keep them and wash them out with soap and warm water. So that you clean them enough, you can put sewing items, pens, pencils, crayons, small notepads, and so on, so you can keep organizing loose items on your desk or drawers.
Gum Containers
Do you have some loose change around or crafting items? Do you want to keep something around to put your small snacks into? Then you will want to keep your gum containers for that because they are large enough to hold those items.
Large Milk Jug
What does a large empty milk jug offer that the others listed above cannot? Here is the thing, you can clean your empty milk jug out well, so there is no milk left to spoil. Use soap and warm water and make sure it is dried up. Then you can use it as a large ice pack. Put tap water in it, freeze it, and then you can use it as an ice pack whether to take with you if you go camping or on a picnic, or if you or someone in your family had dental surgery or sprained an ankle. So that one is quite useful to keep.
Juice Bottles
You can also use old juice bottles for ice packs like you would with the empty milk jug. However, you can also put detergent into juice bottles. Just ensure that if you do, you keep them in the laundry room and glue some blank paper on the outside, so there is no evidence that it was a juice bottle if you have small children around. And keep them out of reach if you plan to use the juice bottles for this purpose.
Tin Cans
If you have young kids, you may want to keep tin cans from your favorite soda, can of soup, or Chef Bouyardi meal so they can play pretend telephone. You can also use your old tin cans as a pencil holder or a small vase for your flowers. If you don’t want to use it for that, you can use it as a watering can for your plants. You can also use it as a can to water your pet’s bowl.
